Garran MacLaurin is a Grim Sith, who has arrived in Boston
to find the governor of preternatural rule is missing, and the Otherworldly
beings are taking advantage of the lack of authority. The worst of it, a
vampire from his sept is attacking women and stealing their souls.
Harrison Connell is a werewolf from the Mac Tíre clan of
Ireland. They prefer to be called moon shifters than werewolves. He has left
his clan to help Garran with preternatural business, but to Garran’s annoyance,
he’s always looking to add members to the team.
Alexander MacLaurin is a Grim Sith stealing the souls and selling them at a high price. His relationship with Garran isn't volatile at best. Their history stems back to eighteenth century Scotland. He fought with him in the The Battle of Culloden in 1745 Jacobite Rising.
Johanna Threshold is Isabella's best friend. She's sweet and kind as they come, but she's also insecure. Harrison is attracted to her, but doesn't understand why. He's an alpha and Johanna is anything but.
Sanya was created in the 15th century, when the Spanish Inquisition had its first auto-da-fé held in Seville in 1481.
Sanya is older than Garran and should be able to take him, but his
determination to follow his creed of right and wrong prove stronger.
About the Book Soul Taker:
No soul is safe…
A vampire from the Grim Sith sept is sucking
the souls out of young women from the Boston area, but this sinister crime is
far worse than a vampire seeking substance. He’s selling the souls to the
highest bidder and it seems business is booming.
A vampire, a werewolf, and a Necromancer are
a most unlikely team, but Garran, Harrison, and Isabella plan on putting a kink
in the dubbed Soul Taker’s plans. It’s personal now. One of their friends has
fallen victim to the Soul Taker’s charms, but to stop him from hurting anyone
else, their efforts may involve raising the dead.

Good morning readers! Hope your day is going well. I just wanted to thank you for stopping by and meeting the characters of Soul Taker. I hope you enjoyed the sneak peek. :)
ReplyDeleteKaren, I love how you've given us a "pictorical" to meet the characters - it made things come alive for me visually. What was the inspiration behind the story? How long did it take you to write?

Hi Steph,
DeleteSo glad you enjoyed the post. It was fun putting it all together.
I've always loved supernatural creatures and I wanted to incorporate the mythologies from some of my other writings as well. I mention the Guard of Judgements and the Warriors For the Light or WFTL that were in my Fallen Angel series. Harrison and his werewolf ties are from the Mac Tire clans of Ireland. I first introduced the Mac Tire in my Moon Shifter story. Isabella and her family are a whole new mythology of Necromancers that I hope will have their own story.
How long did it take me to write Soul Taker? I started the story in the late 90s but never finished it because it just wasn't flowing the way I wanted it. I forgot all about it and started other projects. Then I came across it again and dusted it off and breathed new life into it. This time I knew where I wanted to take the story and sat down and finished it in a few weeks. :)
Very clever way of presenting your post, Karen. But my goodness...my mind will not go there!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad to see someone using Once Upon a Word. I fear some of our authors don't know this is available to them. Maybe we should give them a nudge. I know you have far more to do than I, so maybe I'll talk it up a little on our loop.
Much luck on your series--I know how talented you are.
Celia,
DeleteThank you so much. So glad you enjoyed the post. I know, we need to take advantage of the blog. It's here for all of us. :)
Thanks so much for stopping by. :)
I LOVE the Dracula legend, Kerrilynn Sparks "Love at Stake" and Sandra Hill's "Vangles"
